A total number of 71 people have been arrested in the Townships of Bangwe and Limbe, in Blantyre for various offences.
Police made the arrests during a sweeping exercise which they conducted on Tuesday, July 5th 2022.
According to Limbe Police Publicist, Patrick Mussa the suspects will appear in court soon.
“The suspects have been charged with various offences including; robbery, operating a bar without a licence, idle and disorderly. Those nabbed will appear before court after completion of paperwork,” said the publicist.
Meanwhile, police have reiterated that operations of this nature are ongoing until all criminal activities are put to a halt.
