ANOTHER CASE OF CHAMBA POSSESSION: POLICE NAB TWO PERSONS IN SALIMA

Two people have been arrested by Malawi police in Salima while in possession of Cannabis Sativa locally known as Chamba.

The two, Joseph Bnada (40) and 26-year-old Gerald Nyadani were intercepted at Kaphatenga roundabout, according to Salima police spokesperson, Jacob Khembo.

“The two were coming from Nkhotakota and boarded buses. They are expected to appear in court soon, “said the Khembo.

The development comes at a time where there’s a tension between the judicial system and some Malawians who observed a favouritism in justice following a court’s verdict given to a 19-year-old teenager, John Mussa who was also recently found with Cannabis Sativa.

The teenager, upon being convicted was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment without an option to pay a fine as it was the case with other persons who were also previously convicted over the same crime.
