CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA AGREE NOT TO VOTE FOR RULING PARTY AFTER CHOOSING A MUSLIM AS PRESIDENTIAL RUNNINGMATE

Christians in Nigeria have agreed not to vote for the ruling party after its Presidential running mate, Bola Tinudu chose Senator Kashim Shetima who is of Islamic religion.

According to the Christians, Tinubu’s choice is absurd as it lacks religious balance.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) said it would advise its leader not to vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Initially, Christian and civil society organizations warned against fielding Muslim-Muslim tickets for the forthcoming elections which are expected to take place in 2023.

Tinubu’s main rival, Atiku Abubakar, a Muslim of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has picked Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

Mr Tinubu has since defended his decision saying he chose competence and integrity over religion.
