In South Africa, police are on the hunt for suspects who shot dead four people and injuring two others in the process.
The incident took place in Thembelihle informal settlement, a southern suburb of Johannesburg.
Reports suggests that a group of men were playing dice on the street corner at around 7; 30 on Saturday when the assailants showed up.
“Four people were certified dead on the scene on Saturday while two people were taken to the nearest medical care centre after sustaining gunshot wounds,” the police said on Sunday.
Regional Police Commissioner Elias Mawela called the crime scene “horrific”.
“They were seated. They were attacked for no apparent reason,” he said.
In a separate incident from the same Thembelihle informal settlement, a 36-year-old man was found robbed and shot.
Police failed to gather the motive of the shooting but a manhunt has been launched in all the two cases.
South Africa is one of the countries with highest murder rates.
