GOVT PUSHING TO REPATRIATE 45 MALAWIANS ARRESTED IN ZIMBABWE

Malawi through Civil and Political rights at the Malawi Human Rights is pushing to repatriate a total number of forty five Malawians who are in detention in Zimbabwe over immigration offences.

According to reports, the 45 were arrested after being found breaking immigration rules.

“The 45 were detained as they were traveling without proper documentation, a few weeks after another group of 324 Malawians were repatriated from the prisons,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, John Kabaghe told the media.

According to Director of Civil and Political Rights at the Malawi Human Rights, Peter Chisi, the commission is pushing for their repatriation for the fact that a continued detention would be an infringement of their rights.
