Minister of Justice Titus Mvalo says he was not aware that Martha Chizuma would be arrested and he only knew about the development this morning.
He says government is also shocked about the arrest which occurred today, Tuesday, around 4 a.m.
He has told parliament that Government suspects another hand played into the matter.
Speaking on the matter, Member of Parliament for Thyolo Central, Ben Phiri said the development shows that Government is incompetent.
Chizuma has since been released and formerly charged with making use of speech capable of prejudicing a person against a party to judicial proceedings contrary to section 131(1) d of the penal code.
The arrest is related to her January leaked audio with an identified man.
