Few weeks after the mysterious death of Martse, Malawi police say they are still investigating events that led to the demise of the popular rapper.
During the funeral ceremony of Martse, the family through Uchizi Nkhata explained that he had escaped from a burning house together with his friends before returning and locking himself up.
However, this explanation was not considered as convincing, prompting the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Culture Michael Usi to urge the police to dig deeper in the case.
In a recent interview, National police deputy spokesperson Harry Namwaza says police are still investigating the case and the investigations are currently progressing well.
“Police are still on the grounding probing the death of the musician and findings will be made public after the investigation,” quoted Namwaza.
Martse was pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital after he succumbed to burn wounds sustained in the burning house in Mangochi District.
