Eric Holder, a man accused of killing the beloved Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle was assaulted by another inmate in jail the last 24 hours, Rolling Stone reports.
The assault occurred when Holder was on his way from courtroom going to his cell. The assault left Holder with a black eye and he was unable to attend his Tuesday court hearing.
“Based on some unforeseen circumstances that are no fault of parties here, we won’t be in session today,” the judge said to the jurors.
Holder is facing one count of first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in the 2019 shooting. During the time, holder fired 10 times at the rapper who was just outside his clothing store in Los Angeles. Two other people were also nshot at but luckily survived.
The trial has just started earlier this month since the shooting in 2019.
A female witness, Bryannita Nicholson (35) said she was with Holder on the day of the incident driving him around without knowing of his intentions to kill.
She said she drove Holder to a shopping Centre to get something to eat and while on the way, Holder noticed the 33-year-old rapper in the parking lot.
He then walked towards the rapper and asked, “Did you tell somebody I snitched?”
He then walked back into the car and told the woman to pull behind the shopping Centre before telling her he would be back.
Minutes later, gunshots were heard and Holder ran back into the car and instructed the woman to drive off.
Nicholson told the court that he knew Holder was behind the attack after she got home and watched the news that Nipsey Hussle was shot dead.
