A Ghanaian man who repairs gadgets including phones has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for circulating nude pictures of his client.
22-year-old Solomon Doga pleaded guilty in Accra court for charges of sexual extortion and non-consensual sharing of intimate images. The images belonged to a Lebanese woman who brought her phone for repairing.
The court heard through state prosecutor, Inspector Maxwell that the convict was contracted to unlock the phone of the client and in the process he copied the sexual explicit content into his device.
Later on, the convict tried to blackmail the woman by telling her to pay him undisclosed amount of money or else he would leak the photos; however the woman did not follow through.
Upon noticing that she had refused to comply, the convict posted the naked pictures on social media.
Police launched an investigation and he was later arrested.
Ghana is strict when it comes to publishing nude photos on social media and one risks up to 25 years in prison if found.
