Premier Bet Malawi has sued a man over his Facebook post in which he stated that the company had tricked Malawians when they announced that a certain lady had won K100 million.
In May this year, the company announced that a lady by the name Mercy Phiri had won K100 million after playing Aviator.
In his post, the man who is being sued Kenneth Bwanali wrote that the company lied to Malawians a nd that it should apologize within 48hrs.
“Reality on the Ground is hereby confirming without fear or favor that the Premier Bet lied to Malawians that there was a woman who won K100,000,000 ON 20TH MAY 2022 THROUGH PLAYING AVIATOR GAME. This is a total lie to the nation of Malawi. We are giving Premier betting 48 hours to come open and apologize to Malawians or else we will take legal actions against them. If they feel we have violated their rights they are also free to do the same on us,” read part of the post by Bwanali.
The company has now launched a lawsuit against Bwanali. It claims that Bwanali should pay K100 million in libel damages and publish an apology on his Facebook page and other media platforms including the Daily Times and The Nation newspaper.
It has given Bwanali seven days to meet their demands.
However, responding on the lawsuit, Bwanali has challenged the company that he will not comply to their demands.
“I was not born a coward. Let’s see who will who and who will apologize to who at the end,”
