Rapper Evanz Muzik who is known by Dear MaHope song-series has taken a swipe at Malawian musicians who travel abroad for various music concerts.
According to him, it’s unfortunate that most Malawian musicians are fond to be proud of themselves when they travel abroad for a music show which most of their venues are substandard and mainly patronized by their fellow Malawians only.
The rapper took to social media under weighing local musicians’ live concerts that are hosted abroad.
“Show ya UK koma pena kumaoneka ngati ku ukwati wa mu Assembly Hall inayake pa Dedza pompa apa. [A show hosted in UK but much similar to a wedding function hosted at a certain Assembly Hall in Dedza],” he wrote.
On his follow-up post, the rapper acknowledged Faith Mussa’ live concerts hosted abroad writing, “Zenizeni nde zimenezi, osati ma Sendoff Party timawonawa. [These are real concert hosted abroad not these send-off parties we see],” goes part of his post with a picture of Faith Mussa performing live abroad.
Recently artists Wendy Harawa, Lucious Banda, Mlaka Maliro, Faith Mussa and Phyzix among others, left the country for different shows happening abroad.
So far, pictures of Phyzix performing at a show in UK have surfaced on social media.
Communicating through his Facebook page, Phyzix stresses it is paramount to build a better Malawi as well as bring respect to the country within and beyond through art.
