A South African actress reportedly collapsed after being fired from one of the country’s popular Television Show, Muvhango.
Elsie Rasalanavho (71) who played Mukondeleli had been on the show for 25 years but apparently her character on the show recently died.
According to DailySun, Elsie did not expect that her role in the show would die soon and she was not expecting to be fired.
“When she was told her contract would not be renewed, she collapsed and had to be admitted to hospital.
“It was such a shock that after 25 years of being on the show, she was dropped. She was saying that she didn’t know what she did wrong to the production team that they would do something so painful to her. She gave it her all and they treated her badly, “the source reportedly told DailySun.
According another source, the production team wants more young people on the show, hence letting go of some actors.
It is also reported that other actors on the show would also be fired in the near future.
Some months ago, Elsie in an interview told the DailySun that she had left the show on her own. She said the rumors that she was fired were not true.
“Unfortunately, I am unable to talk about it. All I can is that I’m not well and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to talk about it.
The show airs on SABC 2 from Mondays to Fridays at 21:00.
