Police in Mulanje have arrested seven people including a traditional healer on suspicion that they are connected to a spate of robberies that have been happening in the district.
Mulanje Police Spokesperson, Sub-Inspector Gresham Ngwira has confirmed this and said they were arrested during an operation called “Ndakuona” which was jointly conducted by law enforcers from the South East Police Region.
“Of late unknown criminals have been terrorizing various parts of the district stealing assorted items and cash, an example is the recent robbery at Milonde ADMARC Depot where unknown people attacked a security guard and stole some cash,” Ngwira said.
Police say, the local leader whose real name is Mukhori Wines and the six alleged accomplices will appear in court soon to answer charges of robbery.
