Twenty-six people have been rushed to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital after sustaining various degrees of injuries following a carnage caused by an overspeeding minibus at Clocktower in Blantyre, police say.
Blantyre police deputy publicist, Sgt. Aubrey Singanyama has told Zodiak Online, two of the injured are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and twenty-four others receiving medical treatment.
Singanyama said the speeding minibus which was coming from Chirimba direction heading towards the clocktower, had exceeded its capacity and attempted to evade traffic police officers before plunging into a saloon vehicle and hitting 5 pedestrians in the process.
This is a developing story. More details later….
