Police in the country have arrested a 55-year-old Zambian national for being found with ivory.
The suspect has been identified as Misheck Botha who was arrested at Jenda in Mzimba.
According to Jenda police spokesperson, Alfredo Lucio, Botha was arrested on Monday around Jenda trading center following a tip that he was offering for sale the items at 4,250,000 Kwacha.
He had altogether nine pieces of ivory in his possession during the time of his arrest.
Misheck Botha hails from Ntola village in the area of Traditional Authority Mphamba in Zambia.
