Days after being suspended by President Lazarus Chakwera from his position over Zuneth Sattar corruption claims, chairperson of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) has resigned from his position.
According to Controller of Statutory Corporations, Peter Simbani, John Suzi Banda has written to the ministry of finance about his resignation but did not provide reasons.
A month ago, it was revealed through a report by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) that Banda is involved in corrupt dealings with business person Zunneth Sattar.
Following the revelation, President Chakwera suspended him from his position pending further investigation.
The president also fired Police Inspector General George Kainja and withheld any delegated duties to the office of Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima over the same Sattar corruption issue.
