Celebrated hip-hop star, Tay Grin real name Limbani Kalirani has today been unveiled as the ambassador for the incoming Mkumano Wa Achewa Cultural Event.
The event is slated for 25th June this year at Civo Stadium.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony in Blantyre today, the Chairperson of the Chewa Heritage Foundation Organized event, Senior Chief Sosola said the rapper’s role is to help source funds and mobilize more people to attend Kulamba cultural event which is scheduled to take place in Zambia on 27th August, 2022.
In his words, Grin welcomed the development saying, “This is the biggest moment of my entire career. Since I started music, I’ve done nothing but promote and represent the Chewa culture on both the international and local stage and it’s the honor of my life to be the ambassador of my culture.”
Kulamba is a Chewa cultural festival where the Chewa people from Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia pay homage to their supreme leader Kalonga Gawa Undi.
The event took a 2-year hiatus due to Covid-19.
