The Anti-Corruption Bureau -ACB Director Martha Chizuma says the bureau will not be intimidated with anybody who want to frustrate its duties.
Chizuma says there are some people in the country who are doing everything possible to frustrate its goals of making sure that corruption has been reduced to a negative zero in the country.
The Director made the remarks at the end of a two day Anti-Corruption Conference which was conducted under the theme “Resetting the nation’s moral tone”.
Among other delegates at the conference included the Academia, Politicians, Law experts, the Media among others.
According to ACB, a week does not pass without hearing reports of embezzlement of public funds and fraud in procurement.
Meanwhile ACB has emphasized that the bureau will not bow down to the pressure and be used as a tool for political objectives.
A grouping called “Malawian Concerned Citizens” which is led by Redson Munlo has been demanding the firing of Chizuma on allegations that she discussed official information with a friend during a conversation.
The audio of the conversation was leaked earlier this year.
