Three Malawi Defence Force Soldiers are missing in Mulanje in Mkando after a boat they were using to rescue about 100 people has been swept by flooding water.
Dodma Commissioner Charles Kalemba has told our Alex Banda that the boat had about 5 soldiers and one civilian.
Other two soldiers and the civilian managed to run to safety, but the three others are missing.
Minister of defence Harry Mkandawire says due to bad weather in the area air rescue operation is not feasible.
Mkandawire says government is hoping for the best, that the three soldiers will be found alive.
