A 27-year-old has been arrested in Mulanje for trafficking three women to Mozambique after promising them jobs.
Mulanje Deputy Police Publicist, Leah Kambalame has confirmed of the incident saying the suspect was caught while trying to cross over to Mozambique on 21 July this year.
“She was with three women and using unchartered routes with no proper traveling documents. The ladies revealed that Njazi promised them jobs when they cross over to Mozambique,” says Kambalame.
She identifies the women as Juliet Guba , Esther Moyo and Flesiya Josamu.
The suspect will answer the charge of trafficking in persons contrary to Section 14 of Trafficking in Persons Act number 3 of 2015.
Njazi hails from Chendausiku Village, Traditional Authority Msamala in Balaka district.
