Business Tycoon Leston Mulli and Former Chief Secretary to Government Lloyd Muhara have appeared in court today following their arrest on Tuesday, July 12.
The duo has been charged with two counts namely; Conspiracy to defraud and Abuse of office due to their involvement in a loan settlement deal to have Mulli Brothers Limited (MBL) pay K50 Billion in 50 years.
The two have spent a night at Lilongwe Area 3 police station after their arrest.
Supporters of the two including Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) die had fans gathered outside the court.
They were heard chanting songs before police engaged with their leaders to maintain peace as court session is in progress.
Meanwhile, defense led by lawyer Frank Mbeta has applied for bail.
