ROBBERS STEAL K900,000.00 AT MERU FILLING STATION IN MACHINGA

Unknown robbers have walked away with cash amounting to K900, 000.00 after they broke into Meru Filling Station in Machinga.

According to reports, the incident occurred during the dawn of Monday, 27th June, 2022 between 03:00-03:30hrs at Ntaja, Meru Filling Station.

The Manager of the Filling Station, Evason Raphael said three unknown robbers broke into the office and opened a cash chest using a hawk saw.

“They collected K900, 000.00 cash and walked away leaving two female fuel attendants and one guard tied with ropes,” said Raphael.

The manager said the cash stolen were sales from Tuesday, 21st June, 2022 to Sunday, 27th, June, 2022 and was expected to be banked.

Meanwhile, police have since launched an investigation.
